England Win First Test Against Pakistan
Day 5 - England Win by 74 Runs
Pakistan 657 & 264/7d - England 579 & 268
England defeated Pakistan by 74 runs in the first Test of the three-match series at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The English team chased down a target of 343 to win their first Test in Pakistan since 2000.
Pakistan had appeared to be in the driving seat after the fourth day's play, with England requiring 264 runs to win with nine wickets remaining. However, the English openers, Zack Crawley (122) and Ben Duckett (50) put on a 150-run partnership to set the foundation for a successful chase. Captain Joe Root continued his good form in Test cricket with a crucial 73.
The victory will give England a significant boost heading into the second Test in Multan."
